Media Agency Initiatives - Content Owners Rights Act
The FTC will propose legislation requiring all legacy content providers to disclose revenue-sharing arrangements through standardized SEC media agreements. This transparency mandate will apply to agreements between content owners and network partners.
Key Requirements
Disclosure Mandate: Content providers must reveal revenue splits for both:
- Original agreements with content creators and members
- Current revenue-sharing arrangements with networks.
Process: Loading content, and setting up website relationships.
This will be accomplished by all content owners setting up their domains and their respective agreements with network providers, and/or citizens.
Enforcement Mechanism: If content providers fail to comply, affected parties may file claims with the SEC, including:
- Content creators
- Network partners
- Other stakeholders with market access rights
This legislation aims to bring transparency to content monetization and ensure fair compensation across the digital content ecosystem.
