Federal & District General Administration - Library Agency

Federal and District agencies will have an agency to manage their libraries.

It's important we keep paper-based media in the supply chain as digital information becomes more prevalent to ensure we don't lose knowledge that existed.

Any digital assets that are part of the library system will ensure a "static" capability to them, so content can't just change by a URL.

Although the URL on the web is a great capability to navigate and consume content, we must ensure that content remains static in many cases to ensure it cannot be changed, while providing value and historic significance to the content owners.

This is done by allowing libraries and citizens to have their own media servers where when content is acquired, its copied not linked.

Education & Licensing

Librarians will be provided a license when they go through the agencies online education process.

Website Type Management

The library agency will manage website type's that allow libraries to operate, along with the system to system integration into book distributors to purchase books.

Directory

The Library Agency will manage the library directory of all the libraries in the country.

Legislation

Provide legislation on how old media assets have to be to be available at the library.

We shouldn't undercut the market that sells digital and physical media.

For citizens who cannot afford books, we should ensure there are funds provided by Social Security to purchase books and media from the market.
